Thai Massage is an ancient, healing massage technique of a history traced back to 2500 years ago. It combines acupressure, passive yoga-like stretches/postures, and Indian ayurvedic principles. The founder is said to be Shivago Komarpaj who was also the Buddha’s physician. However, the technique has influences from Indian, Chinese, and southeast Asian cultures. The providers usually follow designated energy lines in the body, apply rhythmic compression and passive yoga style stretching/pulling, and rocking techniques. It is more energizing than other forms of massage.
In Ontario, because of regulational restrictions, we are not free to offer all types of “cracking bones” techniques.
Because most clients visit us for deep tissue massage, we setup our treatment rooms with massage tables only. And so, we are not able to offer traditional Thai massage on the floor. There are many stretching techniques we cannot perform due to this restriction. If you prefer traditional Thai massage with lots of stretching and have no clue where to get the services, feel free to ask us for the info.
